We believe in challenging the status quo of traditional mental health. While we offer traditional psychotherapy, we do not look for a diagnosis or “illness” when you walk through the door. You are not broken, “crazy”, unloveable, or sick. We look for what is out of balance in the mind, body, and spirit, and for what has kept you from expressing your whole, healthy self. We focus on resiliency, health, and wellness.
We help you access your inner wisdom held in the body, mind, and spirit in order to access your innate capacity to heal.
Sometimes we just need the right amount of compassion, guidance, and skill to help us access this ability. We’re here to help you on your healing journey.
We believe that the mind cannot be healed with talk therapy alone. The old days of simply focusing on cognitive behavioral types of therapies are over. We must listen to the body and the trauma that it holds, and integrate this with thought and behavioral patterns. We create space for the body to express and release emotion, trauma, and stress, honoring it’s wisdom and capacity to help you heal.
All of our therapists have training and experience in using somatic (body) and trauma focused modalities and weave this into therapy.
We also offer and encourage our clients to try other healing modalities to complement psychotherapy, such as acupuncture, nutrition, Reiki, breathwork, and yoga.
Truth be told, we believe that we are spiritual beings. While this is not a mindset we bring into every session, nor do we insist that our clients share these beliefs, it informs our practice. We may include mindfulness, meditation, yoga, and energy healing, along with discussion in sessions if you align with any spiritual beliefs or simply have a curiosity about it.
Whether you have religious or spiritual beliefs or no belief at all, we believe that tapping into something outside of us, such as the beauty of nature, or the wisdom deep inside of us, is a powerful tool in our healing.
